This review project was made possible with funding from Tum To Mom. Our editorial team independently managed the testing process, evaluated all products using our own criteria, and maintained full control over the final conclusions.
The Quick Answer We ordered and unboxed all three pregnancy gift boxes ourselves. Tum To Mom was the most well-rounded: a mix of practical, fun, and keepsake items that captures the excitement of a baby on the way. Rumbly is all about mom, with a delightful unboxing and excellent customer service. Bump Boxes felt a bit generic but was the cheapest of the three.
How We Tested
We sent our tester, Becky, one box from each brand and unboxed all three side by side at home. As a mom, she knows firsthand what’s useful during pregnancy and what ends up in a drawer. Each box was set for the third trimester where the brand offered that option.
She scored every box on the same questions:
- Value: Did it feel worth the price? Were items full-size and useful, or samples and filler?
- Relevance: Did the products match the pregnancy stage on the label?
- Quality and safety: Did anything feel cheap, off-brief, or questionable for pregnancy?
- Unboxing: Packaging, presentation, and any “wow” moment.
- Real-life use: Would she use most of it during pregnancy and after?
- Who it suits: Self-purchasers, gifters, first-time moms, or postpartum self-care.
We also checked each brand’s independent reviews on Trustpilot, how often the company replies to complaints, and how clearly it explains pricing, renewals, and cancellation terms before checkout.
Tum to Mom: The Most Well-Rounded Box
This was the fullest and most well-rounded box of the three. It balanced practical items, fun extras, and keepsakes that celebrate the baby on the way. When our tester lifted the lid, everything was neatly packaged and the box felt packed to the edges. “There was a lot of stuff,” she told us, and she felt she got her money’s worth.
What was inside: onesie, mug, mama shirt, milestone flip book, photo milestone cards, three bath bombs, Earth Mama belly oil, and a full size pregnancy and nursing pillow
What we loved
- The pregnancy and nursing pillow. This felt like a genuinely special item, not something you’d expect in a subscription box. Tum To Mom includes it free with eligible new subscriptions started at least two months before the due date, ships it during the third trimester, and lists it at a $70 value.
- A better onesie. Compared with the Bump Boxes onesie, this one had nice edging detail and felt far less generic.
- A nicer mug. It felt fancier than the Bump Boxes mug, though our tester admitted it wasn’t one she’d reach for daily.
- Full-size products. Tum To Mom says each box holds 6 to 8 full-size products with at least $100 in stated retail value.
What we’d skip
Our tester said she personally wouldn’t have used the mama shirt, milestone flip book, and photo milestone, but they might be fun for a first time mom.
Was it tailored to the right stage?
Yes. It seemed to cover the whole pregnancy journey with a few items for after baby arrives. Tum To Mom says boxes follow your due date, so confirm the date is correct at checkout. One recent Trustpilot reviewer noted her box didn’t match her stage at first, so it’s worth double-checking.
Trust and customer service
Tum To Mom holds a 4.3 TrustScore on Trustpilot from about 1,000 reviews, with 72% five-star ratings. Trustpilot shows the company replies to 100% of negative reviews, usually within a week. Common complaints mention value for money and the occasional shipping delay. US orders ship from a US warehouse and Canadian orders ship from a Canadian warehouse, so boxes don’t cross the border.
Pros: Most well-rounded mix of items, lots in every box, standout pillow, $29 first box, ships from local US and Canadian warehouses, responsive support
Cons: A few generic milestone items
Who it’s best for: The first-time mom who’s excited about every milestone and wants a mix of useful, fun, and keepsake items. It works well whether you’re buying for yourself or gifting a monthly surprise.
Rumbly: Best for Pampering Mom
Rumbly is all about mom. The moment our tester opened the lid, the candle’s scent drifted out. She described it as sweet and almost like baking, not overly floral. A message printed inside the box and a letter tucked in an envelope made her smile, and even the filler paper matched the brand colors.
The theme of our third trimester box was a spa night or “date night for one,” and every item fit that idea.
What was inside: scented candle, spa kit with bow face-washing headband and wristbands, face cleaning wand, face massager, nail polish, cozy socks and a letter.
What we loved
- The spa kit. The face-washing headband with a bow was our tester’s favorite piece.
- The nail polish. She loved the color and the packaging, which came wrapped in heart-shaped bubble wrap.
- The candle. A candle can feel generic, but this one was pretty and smelled lovely, which made it feel like a treat.
- No filler. Everything was useful for its purpose, and she’d keep using it all after baby arrives.
What we’d skip
Nothing, really. Our only issue was that the candle lid arrived broken but that is more of a shipping issue and not really Rumbly’s fault.
Was it tailored to the right stage?
Yes. The box was labeled third trimester, and a pampering theme felt right for those last uncomfortable weeks.
Trust and customer service
Rumbly has very few independent reviews, so there isn’t much outside feedback to go on. Our own experience was excellent. We had an issue with our order, and when we reached out, customer service replied promptly and was incredibly helpful.
Pros: Beautiful, thoughtful unboxing; every item useful; prompt, helpful customer service; cancel anytime with no penalty
Cons: Highest price per box; few independent reviews; fewer keepsake or baby items
Who it’s best for: Anyone who wants a self-care moment, whether you’re gifting a tired mom-to-be or treating yourself. It would make a lovely postpartum gift too.
Bump Boxes: Best for Budget Gifters
Bump Boxes was the smallest box we tested. Most of the products were black and white and, in our tester’s words, lacked a bit of personality. Nothing felt special.
What was inside: organizer bags, foot scrub, mug, onesie, monthly milestone discs.
What we liked
- The organizer bags. These were the best part of the box and handy for a hospital bag or diaper bag.
- The foot scrub. The one product besides the bags that didn’t feel generic.
What we’d skip
- The onesie looked like a DIY iron-on project rather than a finished gift.
- The milestone discs covered an odd set of months (1, 3, 6, 8, 9 months and one year) and felt like dollar-store quality.
- The mug was plain. Our tester said she’d rather pick something more special for herself.
Was it tailored to the right stage?
Yes. Our box was labeled third trimester, and the timing felt accurate.
Trust and customer service
This is where Bump Boxes falls furthest behind. It has a 1.3 TrustScore on Trustpilot from about 1,500 reviews, and Trustpilot notes the company hasn’t replied to negative reviews. Recent reviewers report automatic renewals after the commitment ends, a $25 cancellation fee, and slow customer service. A Canadian reviewer also complained the value didn’t hold up after tax and exchange. Bump Boxes’ own help center confirms a $25 fee to end a plan early and automatic renewal once your commitment ends. After ordering, we were also flooded with upsells and promotional offers, which was a turnoff.
Pros: Useful organizer bags, stage tailoring was accurate
Cons: Generic, cheap-feeling items; smallest box; frequent complaints about renewals and cancellation fees; constant upsells after ordering
Who it’s best for: Our tester felt it was aimed at gift-givers rather than moms buying for themselves. If you go this route, set a reminder to cancel before the auto-renewal.
What Each Box Costs
Prices are in US dollars and were checked in October 2026. Subscription prices change often, so confirm at checkout.
Tum To Mom: $29 for the first box, then $41.99 per box. Boxes renew monthly on the same date and you can pause or cancel anytime. New subscribers who start at least two months before their due date get the free 2-in-1 pillow ($70 value), shipped in the third trimester. Shipping is $7.99 to most US states and Canadian provinces. (Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico are $14.99). Six boxes come to about $287 with standard shipping.
Rumbly: $59 per box, with free shipping to the US and Canada. You can pause or cancel anytime with no penalty, you’re charged only after each box ships, and the subscription ends on its own after the postpartum box. Six boxes come to about $354.
Bump Boxes: $49.99 per box month to month with no commitment. Longer plans lower the price. Each plan includes a free gift in the first box. Shipping is free in the US and $14.99 to Canada. Ending a plan early costs $25, and plans auto-renew unless you cancel at least 30 days before your commitment ends. On the 6 month plan, six boxes come to about $256.
To sum it up: With shipping, Tum To Mom and Bump Boxes’ month to month plan both land at about $50 a box, but Tum To Mom includes 6 to 8 full-size products and the free pillow, with no commitment. Bump Boxes is cheapest if you lock into a long plan (though leaving early costs $25). Rumbly costs the most per box but includes free shipping and the most flexible terms. For Canadian readers, Tum To Mom’s $7.99 shipping beats Bump Boxes’ $14.99.
Which Pregnancy Gift Box Should You Choose?
- For a first-time mom who loves milestones and keepsakes: Tum To Mom. It’s the most well-rounded box, with the most items in the box, and the pillow alone is a big win.
- For a mom who needs to be pampered: Rumbly. It’s the box that will make her feel looked after during pregnancy or postpartum.
- For the lowest-risk gift: Skip the long commitment. Rumbly and Tum To Mom both let you cancel anytime with no fee.
- For a fun little treat on a budget: Bump Boxes. If you’re in the US, want the lowest monthly price, and are comfortable with a 12 month commitment ($28.50 for the first box, then $40.99 a month). Set a reminder to cancel before it renews.
Tips Before You Subscribe or Gift
- Enter the right due date. Boxes are timed to it, and a wrong date means off-stage products.
- Read the renewal terms. Many subscriptions roll over to month-to-month after your plan ends.
- Check shipping to your country. Ask about delivery windows and any duties before ordering across the border.
